The IFC project involved the development of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) corporate offices in Bogotá, located on floors 14 and 15 of the Colombian Stock Exchange building. The project was conceived as an institutional, contemporary, and highly functional work environment capable of meeting the international standards of an organization belonging to the World Bank Group. The proposal integrates efficient workspaces with areas for collaboration, technology, and security, projecting a sophisticated, elegant corporate image aligned with IFC’s global character.
The architectural and interior design was developed by a third party, while AEI was responsible for the project’s comprehensive execution, bringing the proposal to life under high standards of quality, construction precision, and technical coordination. This process required rigorous site control to ensure that the design specifications were faithfully translated into reality, maintaining the levels of performance, detail, and finish required by the client.
The architectural layout included office areas, workstations, meeting rooms, and various collaborative zones designed to promote interaction among teams and facilitate different ways of working. One of the project’s most relevant components was the execution of rooms with high acoustic isolation and treatment requirements, complemented by high-performance audiovisual systems that enable hybrid meetings, videoconferences, and corporate gatherings under international communication and privacy standards.
The project also incorporated a Data Room developed under strict security, operational continuity, and information protection criteria, meeting the technological and infrastructure standards required by an international financial institution. Its execution required precise coordination among architecture, electrical systems, communications, security, and HVAC, ensuring the proper performance of the space and its integration with the overall office operations.
In terms of interior design, a sober and elegant palette of materials and finishes was implemented, based on neutral tones, refined textures, and high-quality elements that convey institutional character, trust, and permanence. The combination of clean surfaces, carefully integrated lighting, technological elements, and contemporary furniture created professional environments without sacrificing comfort or warmth.
As a key finding, the project demonstrated the importance of highly coordinated execution when working with designs developed by third parties, where the correct interpretation of specifications, management of technical interfaces, and continuous quality control are decisive in achieving the expected result. AEI successfully delivered the project while maintaining the original design intent and meeting demanding standards of quality, safety, technology, and finishes, establishing a high-level corporate environment for IFC.
